Heather E. Stivison was appointed the new Executive Director of the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms at the March 14 meeting of the Board of The Craftsman Farms Foundation. Stivison formerly served as Deputy Director of Development at the Montclair Art Museum. She brings a wealth of accomplishments to her new role at The Farms. Instrumental in achieving significant fund-raising initiatives, ranging from doubling the museum’s operating budget to creating a major gifts program where none existed, she was a catalyst behind new programs designed to attract a more diverse audience and reach underserved constituencies.
Elected by her peers in the field, Stivison currently serves as the President of the New Jersey Association of Museums. She has earned the high level of recognition and professional accreditation in the field of institutional advancement as a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
Part of Stivison’s objectives will be to expand the museum’s reach to the local community as well as encouraging new sources of support for the restoration of the Craftsman Farms buildings—achieving the Foundation’s vision of a thriving historic campus devoted to the legacy of Gustav Stickley.
Also an accomplished artist, while attending the Parsons School of Design she delighted in the craft of surface design, and worked in one of her professor’s design studio for four years. Her artworks have been exhibited in many New Jersey craft shows.
She will begin her new position on April 30.
