Description
This chafing dish was amongst the items brought to Craftsman Farms from the family's home in Syracuse and was photographed atop the corner cabinet in the dining room in 1911. No longer in production by the time Stickley began working on the property in 1908–and only in production for a short time–its appearance coincides with the tenure of Valentine Kluge as foreman of the metal shop suggesting it may have been designed by him. Chafing dishes were a popular accessory in the era, with many of Stickley's competitors retailing models, and Stickley himself making at least four models in his metal shop from 1904-15.
