Description
Among the many mysteries of Craftsman Farms during Stickley's time is what precisely this embroidered "P" stood for, and why it was so prominently displayed. Set on a twill that is much less contrasted than the pillows to either side contain, it is instructive to note how there is a mixing of patterns as well as colors on the settle. Quite often in the catalogs he produced, there is a block of pillows with a single design or that are united by similar depth of color. It reminds us that for as much as the catalog images can tell us, they must also be approached with a critical eye.
