This 4×8″ tile was adapted from a design for a book cover that Dard Hunter created during his time at Roycroft. William Joseph “Dard” Hunter (1883-1966) was primarily devoted to the study of papermaking. His designs for the Roycroft community in East Aurora, New York, helped define the Arts & Crafts movement in America.

Every Motawi tile is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Each tile is handmade so there maybe slight variations in each form, as well as in the glaze, which makes each item unique!
